2023 Clean-up Australia Day
Oatley Lions have offered to assist Oatley Flora and Fauna to:
CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA ( Well a bit of it not the whole of Australia )
Hope you can come assist for 30 mins or 3 hours on Sunday 05th March 09:00 - 12:00.
Many hands make light work. If you can assist love to see you at Poulton Park, South Hurstville - Register in Morshead Drive Reserve, corner of Morshead Drive and Kyle Parade, South Hurstville. Landmark: Lime Kiln Bay ends in mangroves beneath Hurstville Golf Course and the clean up will be focused there as well as around the creek that flows beside Jinna Reserve
If you think you can attend, please let Wendy Harmer (noelle@oatleylions.org.au) know so we can let Oatley Flora and Fauna know how may Lions will assist. Participants should wear covered-in footwear, hats, gloves, and preferably long-sleeved shirts and long pants; bring sunscreen, insect repellent and a water bottle. A pair of tongs is handy. (We recommend gumboots for the Lime Kiln Bay Wetlands site (high tide Sunday 05th March 09:00 - 12:00 low tide: 2:59 pm)
Oatley Flora and Fauna has registered the site. Locate them on this CUA website.
CUA will supply bags for each site and has provided the following advice:
Clean Up Australia has introduced a QR code that volunteers can scan to sign-in to the site on the day, eliminating the need to sign-in on the paper sheet and share pens, and to help with contact tracing.
Georges River Council will supply some additional bags and gloves, and arrange collection of the rubbish bags afterwards.
