President Richard Sheahan addressed the group:
Welcome everyone to our Oatley changeover dinner. It’s great to have so many of our members and friends here tonight. We also have a few very special guests:
We’re thrilled to have the owner and proprietor of Oatley Hotel Lyn Humphreys who happens to be our Club’s major sponsor. We’re delighted to have Lyn’s mum Jean here too.
We have the State Member for Oatley, Mr. Mark Coure
We have Past District Governor Paul McInnes and his wife Rissa from Blacktown Ponds Lions
We have Chris and Joanne Bailey from the Riverwood Hornets, part of the Australian Cadet Corp.
We have Kerry Theodis from Jubilee Community Services
We have Marion and Kevin Smith and Geoff and Linda Pritchard from Hurstville Rotary
We have Karin Cheung, the Zone Chair for our region
Greg English, Chairman of Australian Lions Children Mobility Foundation, and a Lugarno Lion
Mike Warner, the newly elected President of Lugarno Lions and a no. of our friends from the Lugarno Club!
The evening included:
Board Installation:
This was the formal part of the night. Greg English inducted the new Board to ensure a smooth transition from 2024 to 2025.
Mark Coure:
Mark is a member of our Club and gave a short speech to congratulate our Club and the other organizations also in attendance - that do so much for our Local community.
Chris Bailey:
Early last year it was decided that all proceeds from our Christmas Market Day would be donated to The Riverwood Hornets. Chris and his team were embarking on the logistical nightmare of taking a group of 91 people to France to perform at D Day celebrations in Normandy! We were delighted to be able to donate $10,000 toward lessening the burden on participating families. Chris talked for a few minutes about the name change and the highlights of the trip to France.
Past DG Paul McInnes
Congratulated our Club on a very successful year.
