Music in the Park is a popular community event held in the picturesque Oatley Memorial Gardens. Three of Sydney's favourite stage bands are set to get Oatley into the mood. For a relaxing day, come and join the fun, bring friends, family and a picnic basket and rug, or just sit, relax and enjoy.
This event is too good to miss!
Delicious barbecue lunches and snacks will be available, plus a cafe van, wines, beer and soft drinks. Hot meals include Poveli Cafe Pork Rolls, hot pasta and chicken burgers and the Lions barbecue. For snacks, Tidz Cafe will be on site to supply coffee and snacks. Watermelon slices and Gelato Ice Cream will also be on sale. More details of food sites are shown below.
Chairs will be available and there will be lots of shade cover. The weather forecast includes a chance of a shower, so bring your wet weather jacket or poncho just in case.

Regent Street Big Band
12 noon - 1.45pm
The Regent Street Big Band bring people together, and give the audience an extraordinary shared experience.
With an impressive repertoire of timeless classics, this 17 piece really gets the crowd into the mood.
These talented musicians have been gigging around Sydney for almost ten years, always growing artistically and soaking up fresh energy.
Regent Street have played at the Sydney Opera House, Seymour Centre, Arthouse Hotel, Lazybones Lounge,
Carrington Hotel, Petersham Bowling Club, Petersham RSL, Balmain Town Hall and the Camelot Lounge.

Marsala covers some of the best music from Cuba, Colombia, Brazil, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia, Russia, France, Italy, Spain, Zimbabwe.
They do Gypsy Music, Tango, Salsa, Samba, the African Township thing, French Rap, Italian Jazz, Tom Waits songs, Russian Folk songs… anything to make audiences feel passionately and dance beautifully. They create passion and romance where ever they go Marsala is more of an institution than a band. It brings together the life work and study of some outstanding musicians.
They bring together knowledge and understanding of various traditions and continue to explore and present ‘the world’ in music.

The Hips Band

The HIPS play rock'n'roll favourites from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.
THE HIPS are a hard-driving rock 'n' roll cover band rich in vocals, mixed with guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. They do the lot - Elvis, Jerry Lee, Beatles, Stones, Soul, Credence, Doobies, Status Quo and beyond.
With their strong harmony vocal and punchy rhythms THE HIPS always get the crowd up and on the floor. Combining experience, energy and sheer love of the music, the band heats up everything!
