Need for Feed Project Update

Distribution of Donations to Ensure We Reach the People in Most Need

23 August 2018

Oatley lions Club has been working with other Lions Clubs in our Zone under the “Need for Feed Project”, following a request for support from our fellow Lions in Western NSW.  This support provides the distribution of feed for farmers and families who are experiencing extreme hardship due to the drought.

Our Need for Feed project will continue for some months and Oatley Lions is targeting to raise $30,000 for our farmers.

Oatley Lions wish to thank our local community groups and individuals for their generous donations over recent weeks.  Your efforts, and sincerity in which the donations have been made, are overwhelming - and demonstrate the strong community spirit, and strength of collaboration between our community teams.

Today Oatley Lions transferred $16,000 to the 201N4 Drought Disaster Fund, as a first instalment.  This donation will purchase almost 6 B-Double Truckloads of hay. Anne Jones (pictured) from District N4, and her team, are distributing the feed to only those who are in most need - who meet Lions strict criteria for assistance.   To date the Zone has contributed some $85,000 in support.

Anne Jones asks us to pass on to the Oatley Lions Club members and community, on behalf of the farmers (pictured), their sincere and heartfelt appreciation for our collective support.
